Conveniently located near Hakodate station, morning market, and food streets. I could also easily get to the attractions in Hakodate via the nearby tram and buses. The room was very clean and had everything I needed for my stay. The staff could also communicate well in English and were very friendly. Thanks for the nice stay!

Mercure Sapporo is conveniently located between Susukino (Namboku line) and Hosuisusukino (Toho line). The room booked (deluxe double) was spacious (over 40 square meters) and the breakfast selection was decent. My children loved the food! Jump onto the Tozai line at Odori and you can visit Shiroi Koibito park after a short walk. Jump onto the JR line at Sapporo and you can reach to further places like Otaru or Noboribetsu. The service staff are friendly and helpful. Certainly recommended if you’re coming with young kids.

Hotel was okay, near eateries and kobini (seico) is nearby. Abit of a distance from the Hakodate JR station. If driving, please return back to hotel earlier as car park lots are taken up fast (on a first come first basis).

3 of us staying in a room with 3 beds, the room is a bit small compared to what we have at Otaru but since it is at City so is reasonable. The service is good, help us to receive our posted luggage, the reception counter is located at level 2, there is a hot and cold water dispenser there which saves our time to boil water. Daily top up 3 bottles of water for us. They allow us to check in early as our room is cleaned. One thing that is not too good probably is the air-conditioning, as we came in winter the air-con in the room is not too cold a bit too warm for us. Hotel staff say it is due to the system generally on warm mode unable to change. Walking distance about 8-11mins from Sapporo JR station, downstairs there is a dessert shop, seico mart and tax free souvenir shop as well. Daily Japanese and western breakfast is good, but the menu seems like its 2 kinds will alternate some dishes on alternate days. The Japanese breakfast set only has 2 varieties one is cooked salmon and the other one is raw seafood. I personally prefer the raw seafood set. One thing I like is there is an airport bus just in front of the hotel although it takes longer to reach the airport approximately 1 hour 40 mins to 2 hours but save our time from walking up and down with luggage. Overall I am happy with the stay.

Convenient transportation, many restaurants around, good food, breakfast is especially good, rich food, the restaurant is on the top floor, the scenery is in sight, while eating breakfast, while enjoying the scenery of Asahikawa City, the mood is immediately relaxed, the only thing is that the female guest department for soaking in the hot spring is a bit thin, it would be much better if it was switched to the male guest department, I will stay again next time

The overall feeling is good. There is a pier right outside the door, where you can take a boat. The hotel has hot springs, and the room is relatively spacious in Japan. The only drawback is that the parking lot is far from the hotel. You have to take the hotel's shuttle bus. We forgot to take water when we got off the bus. The hotel room does not have water. The hotel buffet we had in the evening may be a bit salty. My family and I woke up thirsty at around 1 a.m., and our throats felt like smoking. There was no water in the room, and we couldn't get it from the car. In the middle of the night, we found a corner on the second floor and found a self-service vending machine. We bought two bottles of water and solved the problem. It's been almost half a month since we came out, and this is the first time we encountered this situation. We joked that it was good that we didn't scare anyone in the middle of the night. Remind friends who are going to stay here to remember to bring water to the room, be sure to remember!

The view on Lake Toya from the hotel was spectacular. We were lucky to have witnessed the cloud sea and sunrise. From the other angle, we could see the full view of Mt Yotei, also known as Hokkaido Fuji. There are few restaurants in the hotel, including the Japanese, Chinese, French, and the Italian. There was also good onsen in the hotel, both idoor and outdoor. We will definitely come back to stay again in the future.

JJesscacaAbout 10-15mins driving distance from the city center. Parking is located next to it (around 2mins walking distance) where u have to walk through an alley to hotel main door. Perhaps they can install a street light in the alley way or a back door near to parking lots coz it is quite dark and scary to walk alone. Breakfast is lack of variety but acceptable. Other than these, overall is satisfied.

AAnonymous UserI would like to express my sincere gratitude to Miss Hinako Saito, who has been exceptionally helpful and kind throughout our stay. She resolved our issues promptly and with great patience, making us feel very comfortable. However, I encountered a significant issue with the hotel room. I fail to understand why the wall between the bathroom and the bedroom is transparent. When one person is sleeping, the light from the bathroom disrupts the entire room, making it uncomfortably bright. This situation forced me to use the flashlight on my phone while using the bathroom, which was inconvenient. As a result, I would rate this hotel 3.5 out of 5 stars. The three stars are for Miss Hinako’s excellent service, and the remaining 0.5 star is for the cleanliness of the room.

YYi ShieanFrom the moment we arrived at Mizu no Uta, Tsuruga Resort at Lake Shikotsu, we were enveloped in an atmosphere of tranquil luxury. Valet parking greeted us, and we were swiftly escorted to a path lined with zen music, setting the tone for a stay where every detail exudes serenity. Upon entering the reception, a majestic wooden carving of an owl, a powerful symbol of protection in Ainu culture, watched over us. In a delightful and intimate touch, we were asked to remove our shoes – a gesture that immediately made the resort feel like a sanctuary. Walking barefoot on soft wooden floors in such a refined environment felt like the ultimate indulgence. Live harp music floated through the air as we were led past a live fireplace, its warm flames inviting guests to roast marshmallows, adding a whimsical, yet homely feel to the elegant surroundings. The staff, attentive yet discreet, escorted us to our room via separate lifts, ensuring our luggage was seamlessly handled. Entering the room, we were struck by its sheer spaciousness. A half-sized fridge, thoughtfully included, perfectly stored all our chilled treats from the road trip. But the true star was the view: an uninterrupted panorama of lush greenery, stretching out to meet the serene waters of Lake Shikotsu. The combination of the stunning scenery and the luxurious in-room robe made us feel like chaebols, lounging in opulence and shielded from the cool lakeside breeze. As for the dining, the buffet at Mizu no Uta is nothing short of spectacular. Where many buffets struggle to balance quantity and quality, this resort excels at both. Highlights included a live dessert station and a live pizza-making corner, where thin-crust pizzas, surprisingly better than those from Furano’s famed Cheese Factory, were expertly prepared. The spread also featured an incredible assortment of sashimi – the freshest I encountered during my 1.5-week trip across various hotels. The salmon and mackerel, both raw and uniquely marinated in glass jars, were exceptional. The hot dishes maintained the same elevated standard. A simple tomato-based clam spaghetti was transformed by the quality of ingredients, while even the sautéed kailan was enhanced with the addition of Parma ham. Local produce, such as the fresh broccoli used in the cream-based dishes, lent an unmistakable brightness to each bite. The combination of Japanese and Western cuisine was balanced beautifully, with every plate delivering a sense of thoughtful craftsmanship. Of course, no stay at a lakeside resort would be complete without a visit to the onsen bath. While slightly smaller than the one at Lake Akan, the onsen here is far superior in cleanliness and upkeep. Conveniently, the bath is stocked with towels, so there’s no need to carry your own from the room. The experience is further enhanced by a sauna illuminated with soothing blue light, adding a layer of tranquility to the ritual. The open-air onsen is another highlight. For those who appreciate the purity of nature, the bath even features drinkable Lake Shikotsu water, renowned as one of Japan’s top 100 spring waters. This thoughtful touch, coupled with the stunning views, creates an immersive experience that is equal parts restorative and luxurious.

GGuest UserI would like to share a few words with you about our feeling of coming back to your Park Hyatt Hanazono hotel from 29/3/2024 to 3/4/2024. We are beginners of skiing, therefore, our first choice is a ski-in and ski-out hotel. Therefore, last year we came to your hotel and we came back again for further improvement of our skiing. We travelled a long way from the airport to your hotel for almost over 3 hours. However, we didn't receive a warm welcome from your hotel by the time we got out of our car. By the time we checked-in, the handling time took much longer than I expected, maybe we all felt tired after long travelling and wanted to go up to our room. Another guest who was sitting next to me seemed to complain about your service to another staff.. When we arrived at our room, only 3 mandarins were put on the table to welcome us but they did not look very attractive. Next morning, the breakfast was as good as last year, because nothing more had changed. But again, not very welcoming. Our dishes were piling up on the table long before they were taken away. That was not the case last year. We asked guest service to fold up the sofa bed as we wanted it to be more spacious. However, I called several to get it done when we came back from skiing in the evening. But we clearly said we could do it when we were out in the daytime. We booked 2 adults and 1 child, however, we could only find 3 adult clothes for onsen. We called guest service to provide us with child cloth for onsen. However, after tidying up, they provided us with another 3 sets of clothes for onsen again. So, my daughter wore oversized clothes to the onsen. It was not like this when we first came here last year. Luckily, on the third day, we met a new and young manager during breakfast, we received a warm welcoming smile for the first time. We chatted for a while and my daughter felt happy with him. Last year, my daughter made some friends here with your staff and learnt some Japanese from your staff. That made her like the Japanese culture and language. Ironically, after folding up the sofa bed, they mistakenly mixed up my daughter white colored soft toy - cinnamoroll - with the bed sheets for the laundry. Luckily, maybe with the help of the young guy, we found it back. My daughter was so delighted, thanks for all your efforts, but however, the soft toy had been shrunk by the laundry machine. The inner tubing was one of our favors in Park Hyatt Hotel, however, it looked obscenity and did not match with the natural scenery and the well-designed architecture surroundings at all. It looked like a facility in a developing country. Next Easter holiday was a late holiday, maybe no more snow for skiing. Originally we had planned to come again with whole families of six for skiing. Maybe it is high time for us to look for another ski-in ski-out hotel, though I have promised the young guy to meet him next year.

YYi ShieanOur third consecutive stay in Japan’s onsen scene brought us to Kitakobushi Shiretoko Hotel & Resort. Though labelled as a 3-star hotel, this resort is the very definition of an underrated masterpiece. From the moment we arrived, it became clear this experience would rival any five-star destination we’ve ever visited. Our room was a slice of paradise—spacious, serene, and offering a panoramic view of the breathtaking sea. Perfect for a moment of calm after a day of exploring. It was hard to tear ourselves away from the window, with its infinite horizon stretching beyond the blue waters. The bath experience was equally indulgent, with Dyson and Refa hairdryers in the public bath area. The soap and shampoo provided in the public baths? Luxurious, premium products that they also retail on-site. A small but significant touch that elevates this from your average onsen. Where do I even begin with the buffet? It was nothing short of culinary theatre. Imagine live cooking stations serving up dishes with the flair of a fine dining restaurant. From sashimi so fresh, it redefined how I think about lean tuna—the texture was almost reminiscent of beef!—to the incredibly generous portions of salmon roe. Each dish was top-tier, but the dessert station truly took my breath away. A unique pumpkin and sweet potato creation was the surprise highlight, and I couldn’t help but indulge in multiple helpings of the organic apple, crisp and fresh like it was picked that very morning. For fitness enthusiasts, there’s even a decent gym—a rarity for many onsen hotels. Meanwhile, the 24-hour lounge provides a range of delectable snacks, all of which are sold in their store. And though the prices may seem steep, the taste makes them worth every yen. The free daily scoop of Peter Beier ice cream was simply divine. Made with Hokkaido milk, the vanilla was already a showstopper, but the pistachio took the experience to another level. After this, it was impossible not to purchase their chocolate truffles—pricey, but easily worth the splurge. The experience extends outside the hotel, where an outdoor foot bath awaits with a view that will make you feel like you’ve entered another world. As long as the weather cooperates, this is an experience not to be missed. In short, Kitakobushi Shiretoko Hotel & Resort might officially be a 3-star, but in our hearts, it’s a five-star experience through and through. A perfect blend of luxury, nature, and comfort, it’s an onsen resort that deserves to be on every discerning traveller’s radar.

GGuest UserWe absolutely loved this ryokan experience! Stayed for 2d1n as a couple and absolutely loved the place! We booked the room with the private onsen and it was a lovely small space on the 2nd floor we could enjoy privately. The onsen is not too big, maybe 1.5 x 1.5 meters, but it was spacious for the two of us. We also found out that you can book a 45 minute slot for a separate private onsen for about ¥2200, which we may have done instead, had we known about it before booking. The japanese-style room was comfortable and had the usual amenities provided, alongside other nice additions like lotions and creams. The staff helped us to set up our futon (japanese-style bed) after dinner, and it was overall a very comfortable experience. The staff are super friendly and service was incredible. We got the dinner and breakfast package and the food was excellent. We had to choose both the dinner slot in advance, and it is first-come-first-serve. Dinner was served to us in the room over 1.5h and was a really amazing 12-course meal with instructions on the eating order. Breakfast was more standard, but still nice, we took it in the dining hall. The lounge is open till 10pm and we could take drinks and refreshment freely, including some small snacks and soft drinks. But they stop serving beer at 9pm. The onsens also have mini-fridges with free popsicles. There is also an outside area you can access from 3pm - 9pm that serves hot coffee and wine, with free marshmallows you can roast on the outside firepit. It was really nice. The garden is by far the nicest part of the hotel, it is really big and well decorated, with many nice places for photos and to enjoy a hot drink from the lounge. The space is quite large and might take about 20 minutes to fully explore. The only downside I can think of is that the location is quite hard to access. We chose to get to and from the ryokan by taxi, but there is also a shuttle bus service, from what I understand. When we arrived, the reception told us that there would be a shuttle bus leaving at 10:45 to Otaruchikko station. We still ended up requesting a taxi from the front desk though, which they were happy to help us book (I couldn't get any taxis by cab in the location). Overall a really amazing stay that we would absolutely recommend. The price tag might seem high for a ”3 star” hotel, but the ranking is deceptive, we absolutely had a 5 star experience. Cheers! disclaimer: information is accurate as of 31 may, will try to provide info in as much detail as possible :)
