Easy reach by taxi from railway station. Service attitude was good : they changed our room immediately when it was requested. Room was large and comfortable. As with many hotels in China, somehow shower stall water splashes out of stall and wet the toilet area. Also, again a problem with many hotels in China, toilets could be kept cleaner, very often due to construction fault leading to water
accumulation.
Breakfast was typically a Chinese style one with many choices.

Has a pool area with tropical plants around, but it remained closed while we were there. The hotel is a very odd design, but quirky. The interiors look old and dusty, and the rooms themselves were a little musty, though mostly clean.
The room was ok, but not worth the 700 yuan we paid for it. This hotel is living in the past a little as it seems it was the only fancy government hotel in town once upon a time. It is overpriced and showing its age.
No air conditioning either!

I can only repeat what the other reviews are mentioning: it’s clean, got good amenities, but everything seems a bit old. We had some WiFi issues but when it was working it was good. In general, the service wasn’t that great. We arrived tired after a long drive, no help with parking the car or the luggage. Check in was the most rigorous we had, even checking all the flight and train numbers we took. Also didn’t allow us to take a rest first. We went on a hike and wanted to take some Baozi from the breakfast - forbidden (I found that in China this is usually no problem).
However, I think for the price it’s fine and while it doesn’t look like it, it’s quite clean.
Also the dinner was quite good, breakfast not so much.

I stayed in the suite at this hotel. It was a great and very comfortable stay. Everything about the suite was elegant and built for comfort. The hotel has a restaurant that makes delicious Yunnan inspired dishes. The yak stew and the potato dishes were especially good. The staff was nice and friendly although language presented a barrier. (Thankfully there are translation apps.). The pool was a little weird though. It's presented more like a pond in the middle of the hotel rooms. There seems to be only one access point to the pool and there is zero seating. Its rimmed by plants and trees. Very strange. But thats the only criticism of the hotel. Everything else meets and exceeds expectations of a hotel. And its within walking distance of the old town.

The room doesn't have air conditioning, but a quilt is provided. The breakfast is rich and delicious. The milk and soy milk are both peeling. It's a bit too harsh not to give the baby an extra breakfast. Overall it's pretty good.
