We have stayed at this premier inn many many times because of local family and are very regular users of the chain nationally. Sadly our last visits have indicated this particular inn for some reason is in desperate need of a reboot. The staff are inconsistent to say the least, we are rarely if ever at check in offered a night time guarantee, extra towels or pillows, asked if we are having breakfast or anything other than here's your key. But the biggest grief has been the realisation that despite having different rooms several times we have then found there is NO AIR CONDITIONING. The receptionist admitted finally the panels in the rooms generally 'do not work', said she would try sorting it centrally which of course did nothing and given the windows do not open the night was too hot and uncomfortable - again. Neither did she offer to move us OR offer a refund on the room. I do not believe the rooms were full just a case of can't be bothered and I no longer belief there is a national nightime guarantee. We love premier inn, always choose it over Hiltons and other brands but this branch is sadly the black sheep and we will avoid in future. I am also wondering if the chain has decided to cut corners and hope no-one notices - well we did...
